My Journey
Care has always been apart of my story.
Before Néa Mere, there were years of caring for children, supporting families, and discovering that care has always beneath the heart of who I am.
EXPLORE OUR APPROACH
-
My path started in early childhood care, where I spent over 15 years supporting children and families. Those years taught me the power of presence, patience, and how deeply care can shape a life.
-
As my work with families evolved, I felt increasingly drawn to support them through pregnancy, birth, and the transition into parenthood. When I decided to become a doula, I was intentional about choosing training that reflected the kinds of care I wanted to provide.
I chose Mama Glow because I wanted an education that went beyond the mechanics of birth, one that also centered advocacy, cultural awareness, and the realities of the Black maternal health crisis. I wanted to understand not only how to support birth, but how to help mothers feel informed, heard, and empowered within the systems caring for them.
I continued my education by completing my Childbirth Educator Certification through Childbirth International, deepening my ability to translate evidence-based information into education that helps families understand their options and make informed decisions about their care.
Birth work brought together so much of what had always mattered to me: care, education, advocacy, and being present for families during moments that can change everything.
-
Every family I’ve supported has taught me something about resilence, choice, community, and what it truly means to be a mother. I’ve had the privilege of supporting families through unmedicated and medicated births, casareans, IVF journeys, loss, single mothers, LGBTQ+ , and so many unique paths to parenthood. Each story has deepened my understanding of what mothers need and deserve.
-
Néa Mere means “ new mother.”
But I never believed that becoming a new mother happens only once.
With every pregnancy and every birth, motherhood asks something new of you. Whether it’s your first baby or your third, you enter that experience as someone you haven’t been before, meeting a new child while discovering a new version of yourself.
In that way, a new mother is born each time, too.
Néa Mere was created to honor her, to make space for the mother who is continually becoming.
-
Néa Mere is growing into more than doula services. It’s an education hub, a community, and eventually a wellness space. A space where mothers can continue to be informed, supported, and nourished long after the birth. I’m excited to keep creating resources, classes, and spaces that make maternal care more accessible, inclusive, and sustainable.
And the journey continues.
Néa Mere is growing with the same intention it began with - to create spaces where mothers can feel informed, supported, and cared for through every stage of becoming.
